Confidentiality and Access to Medical Records

All laws and protections and regulations applicable to in-person medical consultations equally apply to telehealth services. This includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance of confidentiality and the accessibility of medical records. Patients retain the unequivocal right to decline telehealth services for themselves or their children at any time without forfeiting benefits or future healthcare entitlements.

Telehealth Services

Overview and Scope of Services

J. Rapha LLC professionals are authorized to deliver mental health care through telehealth platforms, utilizing voice calls, video calls, and messaging services. These professionals may also prescribe medications or recommend alternative treatments as clinically indicated. Although telehealth provides significant flexibility and convenience, it may not be suitable for all medical conditions, particularly those necessitating in-person examination or urgent medical attention.

Risks and Benefits

The use of telehealth services presents both advantages and limitations. While it offers notable convenience and flexibility, it is imperative to recognize that certain medical conditions may require direct, in-person assessment and care.

Authorization for Minor’s Behavioral Health Services

Requirements for Guardians Consenting on Behalf of Minor Children

To authorize behavioral health services for a minor child, the consenting guardian must possess sole or joint legal custody. In cases of separation or divorce, the consenting guardian agrees to inform the other parent about the sessions with a J. Rapha LLC professional. The guardian is responsible for ensuring appropriate authorization and may be required to present custody documentation upon request.

Parental Involvement and Patient Privacy

During the course of treatment, J. Rapha LLC professionals may conduct meetings with parents either separately or jointly. It is important to note that patient privacy is rigorously upheld throughout the treatment process. Nevertheless, communications may be disclosed unless parental rights have been legally revoked.

By adhering to these policies, J. Rapha LLC is committed to providing secure, effective, and confidential telehealth services to all clients.

This policy ensures legal and ethical compliance, safeguards the child's welfare, and promotes transparency between separated or divorced parents regarding the child's mental health treatment. It prevents unauthorized consent and potential legal disputes, ensuring that all guardians are informed and involved in significant decisions.
